| Sioli Bassoon |
| French System Bassoon made of african rosewood manufactured presumibly around the Fourthies by Sioli Company in Milan; No cuts or cracks in wood; no chromium plated nor silver but nickel siver mechanics which is complete and perfectly working; tampons are not very recent but do close well the holes in the instrument.
The mouthpiece (s) is not labeled but surely original. This instrument played in Scarlatti Orchestra of Naples (Italy) in Fifties. Holder is not original but perfectly containing the instrument. At least this instrument can surely be played but it could be a valuable collection piece. |
| Heckel Bassoon |
| Deutch system bassoon made by maple and manufactured in Germany in 1903 by Heckel Company (matriculation number 4468 in the back of the instrument is witness of originality). Wood was recently worked with original lutery paint; keys are made by nickel silver, obviously some key lost the original silver plating and two keys has been restaurated. Tampons are very good and close all the holes in the instrument. The bell has the superior ring and the protection one made by ivory. The particularity of this piece is that was made without the bringinvoice key (obviously applicable). The mouthpiece doesn't work (maybe not oirginal) but i tried to play original Heckel mouthpiece and the instrument revealed a prodigious sound expecially on high record. Holder is not original and quite old but contain perfectly the bassoon. At least this is a great piece and rare, for collection and esibition. |
